'Draw a scatter graph' — Present stage: displaying the data visually. 4. 'Conclude the hypothesis is supported' — Interpret stage: drawing a conclusion and relating it to the hypothesis. The student should also carry out the Evaluate stage, assessing whether 30 classmates is a representative sample, whether there may be bias (e.g. all same age), and whether the method could be improved.
Exam Tips: Learn the stages in order — exam questions often ask you to name or sequence them. | When asked which stage an action belongs to, think about what the action achieves. | Calculating statistics is 'Process'; drawing a chart is 'Present'; writing a conclusion is 'Interpret'. | Evaluation questions are common — always comment on bias, sample size and method. | Remember the cycle can be iterative — evaluation leads to improvement and re-planning.
