Exam Tips: The portfolio is NOT a diary — it's an analytical document | Always justify: WHAT you did + WHY you did it + WHAT EFFECT it had | Use practitioner terminology throughout — 'alienation effect', 'given circumstances' | Include evidence: photos, diagrams, annotated scripts
Common Errors: Watch Out! Students often make mistakes here. Wrong: The portfolio is just a record of what happened in rehearsals — you just need to describe the process. Correct: The portfolio is an EVALUATIVE document. Describing what happened earns basic marks; explaining WHY choices were made, HOW they developed the piece, and EVALUATING their effectiveness earns top marks. Every paragraph should contain analysis, not just description.
